Our Poor Need Your Continuous Support

Thank you very much for your donations to SSVP, we are extremely grateful to the church's and priests' support as well.

Please continue to donate and support the poor through one-time or monthly donations. As our members comprise completely of volunteers, all funds received by our conference go directly to the poor. The majority of the FINs (Friends-In-Need) that the Conference of the Risen Christ serves, lives in the Toa Payoh area. We currently support 83 FINs and each FIN receives an average of S$96 per month in the form of cash and/or food vouchers.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are donations tax deductible?

No, donations are not tax deductible.

2. I notice that there are two bank accounts for donations, SSVP NC Singapore (DBS 0189045103) and SSVP Risen Christ (DBS 0059042989), what is the difference and which one should I donate to?

Since the intention is to help the poor, there really isn't a difference. However here is a simple elaboration. Although there are thirty SSVP conferences operating as part of the different churches in Singapore,  SSVP operates as one society. The individual conferences help to serve the poor in the different parish boundaries, and they have their own bank accounts. Donations from parishioners are usually deposited into the conference bank accounts after church collections. SSVP National Council helps to manage the funds of the whole society to ensure that the poor served by the the various conferences receive the help that they need. For example, if a conference has insufficient donations for the poor that they are serving, they will receive additional funds. Unfortunately, the society as a whole has been experiencing an unprecedented reduction in funds across all churches since the suspension of masses due to COVID-19, and hence there is an urgent plea for donations from the entire society.

Nonetheless if you are a parishioner of Church of the Risen Christ, and feel that you want your donations to be deposited in the bank account of SSVP Risen Christ, please donate via Options A and B as elaborated above.

3. I have additional questions on donating to the poor, who can I contact?
